Service Opportunities


Book Bag Team: Fill packs prior to GAKAC day and then distribute packs the day of GAKAC

Childcare Team: Love on and care for the children of our volunteers

Clothes Team: Organize and distribute one new outfit to each registered child

Entertainment/Evangelism Team: This team will serve our guests by entertaining them with fun, engaging tools, but with each encounter, be looking for ways to begin spiritual conversations.

Food Team: Prepare and serve a hot dog meal for each of our guests and volunteers

Finger Food Dessert Team: Provide 2-dozen finger-food desserts for our guests

Frontline: As always, greeters are our “front line” who set the pace for the day. We are looking for people to smile, open doors, answer questions and make our guests feel at home.

Medical Teams: Provide hearing, vision, dental, asthma and scoliosis screenings We need both health care professionals, as well as, inexperienced volunteers to help with sign-in, etc.

Pre-registration Team: Pre-register children on Wednesday, 7/13/16. We need teams during the day and in the evening.

Prayer Team: Pray for our guests and families by name, volunteers and all aspects of GAKAC day.

Registration Team: Prepare registration packets prior to the day and check in each family the day of GAKAC

Registration “Runner” Team: Walk with registered guests from the Learning Center to the Worship Center where they will introduce them to our Frontline team

Set-up Team: Set up the LC and WC for GAKAC on Thursday evening…Note day/time

Shoe Team:

  • Foot Washing Team: Serve each child by washing his/her feet, putting on new socks and shoes, lovingly engaging the child/family in conversation and praying with them. 

  • Shoe Greeter Team: Greet guest into the shoe area, check them in and manage services.

  • Shoe Host Team: Welcome checked-in guest and introduce them to a foot washer. 

  • Runner Team: (Chris and Heather Meatyard) Check sizes, “run” to shoe “store” and take shoes and socks back to foot washer

  • Store Team: Organize shoes and distribute shoes and socks to “runner team”

  • Water Team: (Gail Gandy) Keep fresh water at each foot washing station

Translation Team: Translate Spanish as needed throughout the day for our Spanish-speaking guests

Video/Photography: Capture the impact of GAKAC through photography and video
